Former Driver Makes Allegations Against Model Shraddha Dubey in Lucknow Businessman’s Death Case
A former driver has levelled allegations against model Shraddha Dubey as the investigation into Lucknow businessman Shiva Sharma’s death continues. Meanwhile, a Saharanpur court has issued her notice over a luxury car linked to an alleged ₹90.59 lakh cyber fraud.
The former driver, who lived in the Raebareli Road area and drove Dubey’s SUV, said he worked for her for only seven days before quitting because he was troubled by her alleged behaviour. He said he had started the job around five months ago through an acquaintance.
According to the driver, Dubey’s daily routine and behaviour appeared to change throughout the day. He alleged that her day began in the afternoon, when she sometimes presented herself as a social worker and accompanied people associated with political parties. At other times, he claimed, she spent time with influential individuals and well-known personalities. At night, she allegedly attended parties at clubs and bars.
The driver said he left the job after seven days because of his experiences while working for her. When he asked for his outstanding wages of ₹1,800 after quitting, he alleged that Dubey threatened to have him killed. He said she showed him photographs of herself with several influential people, which made him abandon his demand for the payment.
The former driver further alleged that Dubey frequently partied at clubs and bars late into the night. He said she sometimes returned to her flat after midnight and sometimes did not return at all.
According to him, she allegedly attracted people by displaying a thick gold chain weighing two tolas and drawing attention to their wealth and status. He claimed that after developing close relationships with them, she collected their personal information and photographs and then allegedly began blackmailing them.
The driver also alleged that Dubey threatened people with imprisonment by invoking police complaints and her connections with influential individuals. He claimed she changed her behaviour depending on the situation and sometimes sat with prominent people and well-known personalities, crying and describing her difficulties. According to him, when these individuals were moved by what he described as crocodile tears, she allegedly took advantage of their sympathy to extract money from them.
He further claimed that Dubey used the names of influential people to establish a strong presence in government departments.
The former driver also alleged that Dubey visited expensive beauty parlours to get her makeup done but did not pay after the work was completed. When parlour operators asked for payment, she allegedly arranged a phone conversation with someone else and left without paying. Similarly, he claimed that payments for diesel filled in the SUV were made online by another person.
These allegations come as police action against Dubey continues in connection with the businessman’s death. The Hazratganj police have sealed her flat in connection with the murder case, in which she is reported to be absconding.
Separately, a notice issued by the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Saharanpur was pasted on Dubey’s flat on Sunday afternoon. The court has summoned her to present her side in a matter concerning a luxury car registered in her name and linked to a cyber fraud investigation. She has been given until October 31 to respond.
The case dates back to 2024, when Saharanpur police arrested Ankit Jaiswal, described as a close friend of Dubey and a cybercriminal, in connection with an alleged fraud of ₹90.59 lakh. Dr Prabhat Verma of Saharanpur had filed a case against Jaiswal.
Jaiswal is a resident of Lucknow. During the investigation, police recovered a luxury car registered in Dubey’s name. The vehicle bears a Delhi registration number.
An application was subsequently filed before the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court seeking the release of the car. In response, the court issued a notice in Dubey’s name, directing her to present her position by October 31. Police pasted the notice at her flat in the Balu Adda area of Lucknow.
The vehicle remains in police custody following its seizure by the Cyber Crime Police Station.
The alleged fraud involved a claim that a doctor was owed outstanding payments under the Ayushman scheme. In 2024, the doctor was allegedly cheated out of approximately ₹90.59 lakh through cyber fraud in Saharanpur. During the investigation, police arrested three accused, including Ankit Jaiswal.
According to information linked to the police investigation, Jaiswal allegedly purchased a Skoda car using the proceeds of the fraud and registered it in Dubey’s name. Cyber Crime Police Station personnel seized the vehicle, which has remained at the police station since then.
The developments have brought together two separate matters involving Dubey: the ongoing investigation into Shiva Sharma’s death and the legal proceedings over a vehicle allegedly connected to the ₹90.59 lakh cyber fraud case. While police have sealed her flat in the murder investigation, the Saharanpur court has given her until October 31 to present her position regarding the car.
